Calling All Volunteers: Wallington Organizes Passaic River Cleanup

WALLINGTON, N.J. -- Anyone looking for community service hours or just wanting to pitch in can join a Passaic River cleanup on Saturday, Aug. 6.

Volunteers will meet at Hathaway and Lester streets. 

Participants must be 18 and older to paddle one of the canoes but all are welcome to clean from the shoreline.

The cleanup will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. 

The effort is supported by the Borough of Wallington and the Wallington Women's Organization.

To find the group, plug 137 Lester St., Wallington, NJ 07057 into a GPS. 

Volunteers with their own boats are encouraged to bring them. Wear clothes you can get dirty, a hat, sunscreen, bug spray and a reusable water bottle.
