American Legion Post 269 leased the land behind its Main Street building for a dollar a year to the non-profit Housing Development Corporation of Bergen County, which built the units.

“We can never fully repay the men and women in our armed services who are willing to make the ultimate sacrifice in order to protect us," County Executive Jim Tedesco said, "But we have a moral obligation to make sure affordable homes are always within reach.”
