Natalia and Mercedes Novoa's Sept. 10 Zumbathon will be at 3 p.m. at the Lyndhurst Police Emergency Squad headquarters.

Several of the PES members have family living in Louisiana, two of whom — a firefighter and his wife — just gave birth to a baby girl.

"He is out there helping everyone," Natalia Novoa said. "They are struggling to find a place to stay and family that were not affected."

Her $5 classes are:

  • Tuesdays, Thursdays: 7 p.m.
  • Friday: 7 p.m.

"People do not really realize what others are going through unless they have experienced it themselves," Natalia said.

"But it doesn't mean that it is something that we should overlook."
