Now he is bringing his talents back home to Lyndhurst for a good cause.

“I love performing, obviously, but knowing that I am performing and helping something for my hometown makes it extra special for me,” said Csedrik, who now lives in Hoboken.

Csedrik is producing the comedy portion of a fundraiser to benefit the Lyndhurst Police Emergency Squad Friday evening.

“You kind of realize when you get older how important where you come from really, really is, and this was kind of my way to really start getting more actively involved in my hometown community,” he said. “And I hope this is just the first of many events that I can help out Lyndhurst with.”

The non-profit Lyndhurst Police Emergency Squad has been providing ambulance and rescue services to residents of Lyndhurst and surrounding areas since 1942.

“It’s their 75th year. They have been volunteering for the community that whole time. So this show is to raise funds to help them and their cause,” Csedrik said.

Besides Csedrik, the evening will feature another Lyndhurst-born comedian, Grisel Cabrera, as well as comedian Erik Bransteen, who performed on Fox’s Laughs. And the event will be headlined by comedian Larry Beyah, who was a writer on the hit sitcom Fraiser and was recently on AXS Live at Gotham.

The event will take place on Friday, April 21, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Lyndhurst Fire Department, 299 Delafield Avenue in Lyndhurst. The byob event also includes a pasta dinner. Tickets cost $25 if bought online prior to the show, or $30 at the door.
