Death Sentence Lifted For Paterson Police Officer's Dog Who Bit Mailman

PATERSON, N.J. — The dog of a Paterson police officer who was sentenced to death after biting the mailman has another chance at life, NorthJersey.com reports.

The mail carrier had been instructed to stay off of Officer Jose Galvan's Vernon lawn but in September, came onto the property to deliver a package so it wouldn't be confused with trash, Daily Voice reported in April.

That's when 2-year-old Gabbana lunged at the package and bit his finger, Galvan said.
