WALLINGTON, N.J. -- An informational meeting on flood preparedness will be conducted Thursday in the Wallington Civic Center.

Representatives of the N.J. Army Corps of Engineers, the state Department of Environmental Protection, and U.S. Rep. Bill Pascrell’s office will be present to give information and ask any questions on flood risks in the Passaic River basin.

New flood maps have been developed that will help property owners assess flood risk and plan how to limit potential property damage.

The meeting starts at 7 p.m. The civic center is at 24 Union Blvd.
