Anthony Pedati, 88, Of North Arlington

NORTH ARLINGTON, N.J. -- Anthony Pedati, of North Arlington, died Wednesday, Aug. 17. He was 88. 

Born April 15, 1928, in Jersey City, he lived in Newark before moving to North Arlington more than 50 years ago. 

He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was one of the first 200 men to be drafted to complete the 45th Division and be shipped off to Korea. 

Pedati was employed as a bus driver for 45 years, retiring in 1989 from New Jersey Transit. 

He was the husband of Madeline (nee Salzano); father of Janet Conti (Richard) and Lisa Vidal (Tommy); grandfather of Vincent and Andrew Conti, Jenna Castillo (Chris), Jennifer and Kimberly Vidal; and brother-in-law of Lucille and George Vogt and Rose and Vincent Martino. 

Visitation will be from 2-6 p.m. Sunday at the Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home, 425 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst. A funeral Mass will be offered at 10 a.m. Monday at Queen of Peace Church, 10 Franklin Place, North Arlington with entombment to follow at Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum in North Arlington.
