NORTH ARLINGTON, N.J. -- Celerino P. Orpilla Sr., of North Arlington, died Nov. 5. He was 69.
He was born Feb. 3, 1947, in Sinait, Province of Ilocos Sur, Philippines; he has lived in North Arlington since 1990. He worked as a chemical engineer for Block Drug in Jersey City for many years before retiring seven years ago.
He is survived by his wife, Corazon E.; children, Cathleen Ryan and her husband Sean, Christopher Orpilla and his wife Martha, Celerino P. Orpilla Jr. and his wife Cheryl and Charina Schott and her husband Matthew; grandchildren, Megan, Bella, Alice, Colin, Connor, Maru and Priscila; and siblings, Carmelita Ragaza, Federico Orpilla Jr., Wilfredo Orpilla, Abe Orpilla, Sylvia Lacsina, Veronica Benitez and Tomasito Orpilla.
The funeral will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday at the Parow Funeral Home, 185 Ridge Road, North Arlington, thence to Our Lady Queen of Peace Church in North Arlington for a 10 a.m. funeral Mass. Entombment will follow in Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum in North Arlington. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
