Born in Jersey City on Jul. 9, 1942, he lived there until moving to North Arlington in 2010. He worked as a telephone technician for Lucent Technologies for over 30 years before retiring in 1998. He served in the United States Air Force from 1962 to 1966. He was an avid Drag Racer at Raceway Park in Englishtown and Island Drag Way in Great Meadow since he was a teenager.
He is survived by his children, Peter E. Nowak and his wife Cheri, Suzanne Stecz and her husband Paul; grandchild, Taylor Stecz.
He is predeceased by his wife, Mary Nowak.
Funeral from the Parow Funeral Home 185 Ridge Rd., North Arlington on Wednesday, Jan. 18 at 9:30 a.m. thence to St. Michael's Church, Lyndhurst for the Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. Cremation Private.
