Francisco 'Paco' Chaves, 68, Lyndhurst Resident

LYNDHURST, N.J. – Francisco "Paco" Chaves, of Lyndhurst, died Wednesday, Feb. 10. He was 68.

Chaves was born in Spain and came to the United States in 1972. He was a longshoreman and a member of ILA Local 1235.

He was the husband of Maria (Farina) Chaves; son of the late Jose Castor and Luisa (Costa) Chaves; brother to Luisa and her late husband, Antonio Pineiro, Benito and his wife, Milagros, Carmen and her husband, Luis Torres, and Emilia and her late husband, Rufino Fernandez; son-in-law of Maria Elisa Farina; brother-in-law of Vicente and his wife, Leonor Farina, Aurelia and her late husband, Emilio Farina, and Marisa and her late husband, Manuel Fontan; and many nieces, nephews and Godchildren.

A funeral Mass will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, Lyndhurst. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum. Arrangements are under the direction of the Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home, 425 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to The Head and Neck Cancer Program Fund at the Abramson Cancer Center in honor of Francisco Chaves or mailed to Head Neck Cancer Program Fund, Attn: Caitlin Crowe, 3535 Market St. Suite 750, Philadelphia, PA 19104. Make checks payable to "Head Neck Cancer Program Fund.”
