NORTH ARLINGTON, N.J. -- George Tsiamtsiouris, 81, of North Arlington, passed away peacefully Nov. 24, 2015 with his wife at his side.
He enjoyed cooking, fixing things, spending time with his family and traveling to Greece.
Born in Gorgianades, Evritania, Greece, he came to the United States at the age of sixteen, He worked in many restaurants, from Connecticut to North Carolina, before settling in New Jersey, where he owned several restaurants.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Catina; his son Jim and daughter-in-law Jennifer, and grandsons George and James Tsiamtsiouris of Wayne; his daughter-in-law Vicki and granddaughter Katherine Tsiamstiouris of Wayne; his sister Eleni Yiannopoulos of Karpenisi, Greece.
He was predeceased by his sons Ron and Peter Tsiamtsiouris.
The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Friday at Parow Funeral Home, 185 Ridge Road, North Arlington. A funeral Mass will be offered at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 818 Valley Road, Clifton. Internment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, 340 Ridge Road, North Arlington.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 818 Valley Road, Clifton.
