Josephine Babiarz, 90, North Arlington Resident

NORTH ARLINGTON, N.J. — North Arlington resident Josephine "Ceal" Babiarz (Mushalla) died Monday, May 30. She was 90.

Born in Wilkes Barre, Pa., Babiarz lived in Harrison for 30 years before moving to North Arlington 35 years ago. 

She worked as a waitress at Eagan's Restaurant in North Arlington for 40 years before retiring in 2001. 

Babiarz is survived by her son, Chester S. Babiarz Jr. and his wife Carol; her daughter, Charlotte A. Smaldone; her son, Joseph M. Babiarz and his wife Valerie; her grandchild, Chester S. Babiarz III and his wife Candace; and great-grandchild Eleanor Josephine. She also is survived by her sister, Anna Giza; her brother, Russell Mushalla; her sister-in-law, Florence Subsak; and many nieces and nephews. 

Babiarz was predeceased by her husband, Chester S. Babiarz Sr.; and sisters Helen Crop and Dorothy Slumski.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Parow Funeral Home, 185 Ridge Road, North Arlington. The funeral Mass will begin at 11 a.m. at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church in North Arlington.

Visitation will take place from 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
