Louis Di Gesu, 87, Of North Arlington

NORTH ARLINGTON, N.J. -- Louis Di Gesu, 87, died Thursday, July 7, 2016, at his home in North Arlington. 

Born in Hoboken, he lived in Jersey City before moving to North Arlington in 1967. He worked as a route salesman for Coca-Cola Company in Paterson for 27 years before retiring in 1987. 

Di Gesu proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was stationed primarily in Alaska and was a member of the 11th Airborne Division, 15th Ranger Company. 

He was a member of the North Arlington Senior Citizens. 

He was the husband of Carmela (nee Maccaronio ); father of Mark and his wife Sharon of North Arlington, James of Closter and Andrew and his wife Elizabeth of Pompton Lakes; grandfather of Mark, Michael, Christopher, Lilianna, Andrea, Michela and Juliet; great-grandfather of Natalie, Daniel and Ava; and the brother of Frank Di Gesu and the late Luke Di Gesu. 

The funeral will be be at 10:15 a.m. Monday at the Parow Funeral Home, 185 Ridge Road, North Arlington thence to Our Lady Queen of Peace Church in North Arlington for an 11:15 a.m. funeral Mass. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington. The family will receive friends on from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday.
