LYNDHURST, N.J. – Manuel Fontan, Jr., of Lyndhurst, died on Thursday, Dec. 10. He was 64.
Fontan was born in Spain to Manuel and Dolores Fontan. He came to the United States in 1965, working as a longshoreman as a member of ILA Local 1235 for over 35 years.
Fontan is survived by his wife Maria Elisa (nee Farina), daughters Marisa and her husband, Francisco Mayan, Monica and her husband, Santiago Vincente; sons Manuel and his wife, Patricia, son Miguel and his wife, Amanda; brother-in-law Antonio, sister Maria and her husband, Joseph Lopez; brother Pedro and his wife, Katherine, and three grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a sister Benedicta Fernandez.
The Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home in Lyndhurst handled arrangements.
