Marie C. Sirois, 96, Longtime North Arlington Resident

NORTH ARLINGTON, N.J. -- Marie C. Sirois, of North Arlington, died on Friday, Feb. 3.  She was 96.

Born in Newark, Sirois had lived in North Arlington since 1950. She was a member of the Rosary Society of Queen of Peace Church and the Ladies Auxilliary of the Veterans of Foreign War Post 4697, both of North Arlington. 

"She was a cafeteria worker and was known as the 'Beloved Cookie Lady' at Queen of Peace High School in North Arlington, where she retired on her 88th birthday, after working 34 years," information from the funeral home noted.

Sirois is survived by her children, Jeanette Flannery, and Frederick, Raymond and James Sirois; and grandchildren Sean Flannery, Victor Rau-Sirois, Kira and Mark Sirois, and Virginia and John Johnson.

She was preceded by her husband, Ossie.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 6, and 2-4 and from 7-9 p.m. on Tuesday, at Parow Funeral Home, 185 Ridge Rd., in North Arlington. The funeral will be from the funeral home at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, then to Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, in North Arlington, for the 10 a.m. funeral mass. Entombment will follow, in Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum, in North Arlington.
