He was the husband of Mildred (nee Battilora) Jacobs, father of Dianne and her husband John LaGuardia and Karen Jacobs, brother of Florence Higgins, nephew of Charolette Jacobs and grandfather of Kayla and Isabella LaGuardia.
Jacobs is a U.S. Navy veteran and a member of the AmVets of Lyndhurst.
He worked as a chemical operator for Hoffman LaRoche before retiring.
Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday at the Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home, 425 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst. There will be a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart R.C. Church. Interment at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Friends will be received from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday.
