ONLY ON CVP: A cluster of car air fresheners weren’t enough to mask the smell of raw “Sour D” marijuana, said Wallington police who arrested a Garfield man on drug charges.

Officers spotted the fresheners on the steering column switch arms after stopping a black Acura near the Wallington Lanes, Lt. Shawn Kudlacik told CLIFFVIEW PILOT .

The driver initially refused a search consent but then changed his mind when a K9 unit arrived, Kudlacik said.

In the front console police found a half-ounce of pot, the lieutenant said. A little more than 3½ more ounces were found in the trunk, inside a large orange bag marked “Trick or Treat,” he said.

“He said he called the product ‘Sour D’,” Kudlacik said.

Avdi Ismani, 19, was charged with possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute the drug, along with an additional count of doing so within 500 feet of a public park.

Bergen County Jail records show that Ismani posted $15,000 bail last Tuesday, four days after the arrest.
