The equipment "has enabled us be much more efficient in a more professional manner,” Fire Chief Paul Haggerty said.“This projection system allows us to utilize our facilities as a training center for all South Bergen Fire Departments so that we don’t have to travel all the way to Mahwah to the Bergen Fire Academy,” he said.

The department previously used a 40-inch television that could barely be seen by a small youth class. The projection system can serve more than 200 viewers at once.Haggerty used it in early October to teach 2,000 visiting schoolchildren about fire safety.ProjectorScreen.com began in Lyndhurst before moving to Riverdale."We wanted to give back to the community and the people that protect the community,” company owner Brian Gluck said.
