Lyndhurst Police Detective Michael Lemanowicz arrested Donald Moat after being alerted to a photo-shopped image of a local woman — who, like Moat, is 54 years old — on a social media page for motorcycle enthusiasts, Police Chief James O’Connor told CLIFFVIEW PILOT this afternoon.

Charges were pending from a similar incident involving a North Arlington woman, he said.

“This is the sixth time that we’ve arrested Moat for this type of behavior,” the chief said. “He gets into these people’s pages or sites and takes control of their profiles or makes a bogus profile for them.

Moat, who previously has been evaluated at Bergen Regional Medical Center, “apparently claims he does these things when he’s having problems in his life,” O’Connor said.

“He’s been warned. Judges have ordered him off social media. His computers hve been seized,” the chief said. “He just goes out and does it again.”
