Michael Young, 50, of Bayville was working on a subpanel at Dealer Tire on Valley Brook Avenue when the accident occurred just minutes before noon today, Lyndhurst Police Chief James O’Connor said .

“The main electrical box flashed and he was burned,” O’Connor told CLIFFVIEW PILOT .

Emergency workers quickly got Young to the Matera Field landing zone and a copter that whisked him to the hospital.

The incident is being investigated by OSHA and both the Lyndhurst police and building departments.
