No one knows why, but a Manhattan man tried running across Route 495 near the Tonnelle Avenue ramp — and was struck and killed.
It was just before 11 Monday night when 31-year-old David Colon took off. He made it over the divider, and was promptly smashed by a Lincoln Town Car heading west.
The wide, constantly busy highway has a footbridge nearby. Why Colon didn’t use it is anyone’s guess.
