Detectives investigating the July 15 break-in on the 400 block of Forest Avenue lifted a fingerprint that was analyzed by the Bergen County Sheriff's Bureau of Criminal Identification.

It produced a match: Joshua Davila, 30, who was being held in the Essex County Jail on unrelated charges, Police Chief James O'Connor told Daily Voice.

A judge set $15,000 bail on Davila, who records show has an extensive criminal history, in case he's released from the Essex lockup, O'Connor said.

The Mercedes hadn't yet been recovered, he said.
