Lyndhurst Police: Can You Help ID Woman Who Stole Charity Box?

LYNDHURST, N.J. -- Lyndhurst police released surveillance photos Tuesday in the hope that the public can help identify a woman who they said swiped a charity money box from the counter of a 7-Eleven nearly two weeks ago.

The accused thief placed a large block coat over the box, covering it, then picked up both and left while the clerk was distracted the monring of Feb. 18, Police Capt. John Valente said.

He didn't know how much the box contained or what charity it was for.

The woman was described as about 45 years old, with black hair, and wearing dark sunglasses, black pants, a leopard-patterned shirt and a scarf.
