LYNDHURST, N.J. -- A robber wearing a New York Jets cap morning placed a bag on the counter of the Hudson City Savings branch in Lyndhurst on the Thursday morning, "told the teller to fill it," then fled with an undetermined amount of cash, police told Daily Voice.
It was too early to tell whether the holdup was connected to robberies at three other Hudson City Savings Bank branches in Bergen County, the most recent on Nov. 6 in Glen Rock, Lyndhurst Police Capt. John Valente said.
The initial description in Lyndhurst on Thursday was of a tall, light-skinned black man with a medium build, wearing a dark sweatshirt and the NFL team cap, Valente told Daily Voice.
FBI agents and Lyndhurst police were interviewing the teller at the Lewandowski Commons bank off Orient Way. A Bergen County Sheriff's K-9 searched for a trail. The sheriff's Bureau of Criminal Identification collected evidence.
