Parents, Youngsters Attend Lyndhurst Fire Department Open House

LYNDHURST, N.J. -- Attendees expressed appreciation for the work of their borough's bravest at Wednesday's annual Lyndhurst Fire Department open house.The department's centerpiece during Fire Prevention Work offered lessons in fire prevention, gave youngsters the chance to extinguish a small blaze and work through wear through a "smoke house" room filled with artificial smoke.It also allowed firefighters to use a hydraulic Jaws of Life to cut open a vehicle and a mannequin to demonstrate the use of a stokes rescue basket."Great learning lesson for the kids!!" wrote Phiip Wagner.Auj Anderson praised "a great time and lots of information to keep us safe!" Were you there?
