Prosecutor: Jersey Shore Man Sexually Assaulted Sleeping Lyndhurst Woman

LYNDHURST, N.J. -- A Jersey Shore man sexually assaulted a Lyndhurst woman as she slept, said authorities who arrested him.

Pedro A. Castillo-Valdes, a 35-year-old married hotel engineer, remained held $100,000 bail in the Bergen County Jail pending an initial court appearance Friday. He was charged with aggravated sexual assault and assault.

Castillo-Valdes was arrested Wednesday after the woman said she woke up to find him assaulting her early last Friday, Acting Bergen County Prosecutor Gurbir S. Grewal said Thursday.

The investigation was conducted by his Special Victims Unit and Lyndhurst police, the prosecutor said.
