Bernard Pinckney, 28, of Astoria, was arrested without incident Tuesday on charges stemming from last Wednesday’s shooting at 691 Main Ave., authorities said.

Pinckney faces several illegal weapons counts in addition to attempted murder – including being a felon possessing a firearm -- said Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Passaic Police Chief Luis Guzman.

Responding city police officers found the victim with a gunshot wound in the torso just before 3 a.m. July 12, Valdes and Guzman said in a joint release.

The victim was taken to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center in Paterson for treatment.

Police quickly identified Pinckney as the alleged shooter.

He remained held in the Passaic County Jail pending a detention hearing Wednesday afternoon.
