Resident questioned after Lodi apartment fire

YOU READ IT HERE FIRST: Lodi police told CLIFFVIEW PILOT that they interviewed a resident but brought no charges following a Route 46 garden apartment fire this morning.

“This case is an open investigation still no charges have been filed against anyone,” Lt. Robert Salerno said tonight, adding that police brought the person to headquarters for “safekeeping.”

Lodi firefighters quickly snuffed the second-floor blaze at the Rules Court apartments just after 11 a.m.

Wallington and Hasbrouck Heights firefighters provided mutual aid.

The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Arson Investigation Unit responded, along with Lodi police and the Bergen County Sheriff’s Bureau of Criminal Identification.

No injuries were reported.
