Detectives from Riverdale helped their Fair Lawn colleagues identify the getaway vehicle from surveillance video, Sgt. Brian Metzler said.

Before long, the investigators had Leonard McNeill, 40, and Tyree Lusk, 34, both of Paterson, and Gina Taddio, 36, of Ringwood in custody.

A robber wearing a mask got out of the beige Nissan Pathfinder at 4:40 a.m. July 12, pulled out a silver handgun and pistol-whipped the attendant at the BP on Wagaraw Road, injuring him, Metzler said (see video above).

The elderly attendant "was then forced into the station’s office, where he was held down at gunpoint as the [robber] took approximately $700 in cash and the victim’s cell phone," the sergeant said.

The robber got back into the Pathfinder, which took off, he said.

The victim refused hospitalization, Metzler added.

McNeill was charged with kidnapping, armed robbery, aggravated assault and drug and weapons possession.

Lusk and Taddio were charged with conspiracy to commit armed robbery & endangering an injured victim.

McNeill and Taddio were being held in the Bergen County Jail and Lusk at the Passaic County Jail pending detention hearings.

Investigating the case were Fair Lawn Police Detective Lt. Joseph Dawicki, Detective Sgt. Tim O’Shaughnessy, Detective Sgt. Joseph Mecionis and Detectives Paul Donohue, Anthony Lugo, Peter Yuskaitis and Mark Wyka.
