Wallington Laborer Charged In Elmwood Park Child Sex Case

WALLINGTON, N.J. -- A Wallington laborer inappropriately touched a Woodland Park girl in Elmwood Park, said authorities who arrested him on Friday.

A judge ordered Luis F. Salazar, 20, held on $150,000 bail, charged with sexual assault and child endangerment.

Woodland Park police got the call on Thursday and notified

the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit, Acting Bergen County Prosecutor Gurbir S. Grewal said.

Salazar, of Locust Avenue, was arrested after the girl was interviewed, he said.

He was scheduled for a first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court on Sept. 23, the prosecutor said.

Grewal thanked police from Elmwood Park, Woodland Park and Wallington for their roles in the case.
