Andrea Rivers, 20, had changed her phone number and listed online contacts following the Sept. 24 incident at the Quality Inn on Polito Avenue just off Route 17, law enforcement sources told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.
On Monday, police in Fairfield arrested Rivers on their Lyndhurst colleagues’ warrant after finding her in a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot of the LaQuinta Hotel on Two Bridge Road, Lyndhurst Police Capt. John Valente said.
She was processed in Lyndhurst and taken to the Bergen County Jail, where she was held on $70,000 bail.
The Brooklyn victim told police that Rivers was wearing a mask when she knocked on her door and sprayed her after she’d gone to work for a rival employer.
She said Rivers then bound her hands with zip ties and told her not to scream or she’d be killed.
Rivers then put duct tape over her month before swiping her beongings, the woman said.
After cutting herself free with scissors, the woman called the front desk.
“She still had duct tape around her neck when patrol officers arrived and there were cut-zip ties found in the room,” Valente said. “And she had visible signs of the assault.”
Lyndhurst EMS workers treated her for cuts and bruises on her face, right elbow, right knee and both forearms, he said.
Detectives then obtained the warrant charging Rivers with robbery, criminal restraint and making terroristic threats.
