In Lyndhurst: 3 Incumbents, 2 Newcomers Elected to Board Of Commissioners

LYNDHURST, N.J. – Lyndhurst Mayor Robert Giangeruso, three of his running mates, and incumbent commissioner John Montillo Jr. from the opposing ticket, were elected to four-year-terms on the township’s Board of Commissioners, NorthJersey.com reports.

Twelve candidates were vying for five open positions on the board, and traditionally the candidate with the most votes is selected as mayor, the article says.

Giangeruso earned the most votes with 2,134, and is expected to be reappointed mayor, the article says.

Other members of his Lyndhurst Community Pride ticket who won seats on the board are: incumbent Tom DiMaggio (1,934 votes), and newcomers Karen Haggerty (1,883 votes) and Richard Jarvis Sr. (1,724 votes), according to the story.

Montillo, of the Lyndhurst New View ticket, earned 1,775 votes, the article says.
