LYNDHURST, N.J. -- Officials will meet in Lyndhurst on Tuesday at the Senior Building to discuss the approval of a new junior high and school facility upgrades.

The Board of Commissioners and the Board of Education will hold a special joint session March 8 to discuss approval of the inter-local services agreement and the initiative to repair and improve the high school as well as all elementary schools.

Mayor Robert Giangeruso and the Board of Commisioners, School Superintendent James Corino and Lyndhurst Board of Education President James Vuono will lead a discussion that centers around a return to neighborhood schools, a state of the art junior high school, and a renovation plan for the high school. The goal is innovative programming, enhanced scheduling, family-friendly organization, and on-site lunch capabilities for all students.

The community is encouraged to attend and offer opinions.

Official action may also be taken on other matters that come up before the boards.

The meeting starts at 6 p.m.
