WALLINGTON, N.J. -- Wallington High School recently had two new wireless scoreboards installed in its gymnasium.

The scoreboards were donated by Steve Adzima of Universal Electric and the Wallington Education Association through an New Jersey. Education Association Pride grant.

The scoreboard donated by Universal Electric displays the time, score, period, bonus, team fouls and player fouls, and it replaces the previous scoreboard, which was also donated by Universal Electric more than 20 years ago.

Through the efforts of the Wallington Education Association, the high school has been able to purchase a scoreboard for the north side of the gymnasium as well. In the past, there was only one scoreboard on the south side of the gym, and it was difficult for teams competing to have equal access to the information on the scoreboard.

The second scoreboard will give both teams and fans full access to the time and score at all times.

The Wallington Public School District expressed thanks for the generosity of Adzima, as well as the efforts and generosity of the Wallington Education Association and the NJEA.

"We are very excited to have this. The old scoreboard served us very well but the technology was old and it was difficult to get it repaired," said Wallington Public Schools Superintendent James Albro. "We are very thankful to everyone who has donated these scoreboards to the school."

Wallington High School is on Pine Street, Wallington.
