Lyndhurst Schools Conducting Three-Day Baseball Camp

LYNDHURST, N.J. -- A baseball camp is planned in Lyndhurst June 27-30.The Lyndhurst Golden Bear Baseball Camp is for grades K-8 and is run by Lyndhurst Public Schools from 9 a.m.-1 p.m.

Cost is $140; siblings will receive a $10 discount. 

The morning will be devoted to the development of individual skills. Campers will be taught all aspects of offense and defense of play. 

Stations will include fielding, hitting, throwing, running and others, and each camper will participate in drills in specified areas that will enhance their baseball skill level. 

Campers will get a chance to exhibit their skills in the afternoon, during games and contests. 

Games are grouped by age and will teach the campers how to work with others and in team format. 

Typical daily schedule: 

  • 8:30 to 9 a.m. check in 
  • 9-9:15 a.m. Stretching 
  • 9:15-9:30 a.m. Warm-up 
  • 930 to 11 a.m. Stations 
  • 11 to 1130 a.m. Lunch (bring your own) 
  • 11:30 to 12:40 p.m. Games and camp contests
  • 12:40 to 1 p.m. Damien review, daily rewards and closing lecture 

Staff includes camp director and Lyndhurst High School coach Patrick Auteri, assistant baseball coach Joseph Auteri, assistant baseball coach Mark Offitto, JV baseball coach Bubba Jasinkski, freshman baseball coach and former standout player Michael Rizzo, and LHS players.
