The day will include butterfly walks and free kids activities, including a scavenger hunt, face painting, butterfly costume contest (for kids 12 and under), butterfly crafts, live music and experts to help identify the various butterflies and provide gardening tips.
A rain date will take place Sunday in case of inclement weather. Click here to register for the free event.
The butterfly festival is co-sponsored by the Bergen County Audubon Society and the North American Butterfly Association.
The Richard W. DeKorte Park Meadowlands Environment Center is at 2 DeKorte Park Plaza, Lyndhurst.
