Lyndhurst Police Emergency Squad Raises Money With 5K Race

LYNDHURST, N.J.– The Lyndhurst Police Emergency Squad is hosting its fifth annual 5K run/walk to raise money for equipment and supplies.

The race is schedule for 8:30 a.m. Oct. 16, rain or shine. 

Participants will meet at the Lyndhurst Recreation Center, 862 Valley Brook Ave. Registration beings at 6:30 a.m.

The Lyndhurst Police Emergency Squad Mother-Daughter Zumba Crew will offer a Zumba warmup prior to the race. 

The course is USATF certified and there will be water stations set up along the way. Emergency personnel also will be on hand.

Refreshments and snacks will be served. 

The top three finishers by gender and age group – 14 and under and then 10-year increments between 15-79 and also 80 and older – will receive medals. 

The cost is $20 for first responders, military, and students and $25 for everyone else. Prices will increase after Oct. 10.
