LYNDHURST, N.J. — What makes the copy of "The Land of Stories: A Grimm Warning" at the Lyndhurst Library unique is that on the inside cover there's a sticker plaque that reads "In memory of My Bocci (Grandmother) Teresa Deveney."
The one copy of the book was donated by Lyndhurst teen Rebecca Brugaletta, who is memorializing her grandmother through a library program that not many people might know of. Brugaletta could not be reached for comment.
"It's not something that we advertise, but if somebody wants to do that they are more than welcome to it," said Reference and Young Adults Departments Supervisor Thomas Hilton.
The library receives roughly one or two memorial donations a year and that it currently has upwards of 50 memorialized books, Hilton said.
He recommended donating popular books that are likely to stay in demand. Less-read books could be given away if the library runs out of space.
