Donald O'Neill Sr., 69, North Arlington Resident

NORTH ARLINGTON, N.J. -- Donald O'Neill Sr., of North Arlington, died on Monday, Sept. 26. He was 69.

O'Neill was a union electrician with the IBEW in Paramus for 50 years, before he retired in 1999. He served on the North Arlington School Board, from 1979 to 1981.

He was a co-founder of the North Arlington Soccer Association; a member of the Knights of Columbus, Queen of Peace Council No. 3428; and a former member of the North Arlington Lions Club and North Arlington Police Reserve.

O'Neill is survived by his children, Donald O'Neill Jr. and Jennifer O'Neill-Gonzaga; grandchildren Brittany Ryan and Aristidis Pavlis; and brothers Thomas and Jack O'Neill.

He is predeceased by his wife, Catherine (Ennis), and his brother, Robert O'Neill.

Visitation hours were held at the Parow Funeral Home, in North Arlington, on Thursday, Sept. 29, and a noon funeral mass was held at Queen of Peace Church, in North Arlington, on Friday. Cremation was private.
