Mae L. Hendricks, 95, Of Wallington

WALLINGTON, N.J. – Mae L. Hendricks (née Lange), 95, died Thursday, Nov. 26. She was born Sept. 11, 1920, the eldest of four children born to Hilda and William Lange.

When she was in her teens, the family moved to Waldwick, where she met her future husband, Russell Hendricks. They married in 1940 and moved to Midland Park. In 2008, they moved to Mahwah and then to Saddle River in 2013.

When the Hendricks' daughters were in their teens, she went to work at the Garden State Credit Bureau in Clifton; she retired in 1980.

Hendricks was known for her unlimited supply of Christmas cookies, and she was a prolific oil painter. She also loved doing all sorts of needlework.

She was an active member and Communion steward at Paramus Community Church for many years. In 1999, she joined the Congregation of Grace Community Church in Franklin Lakes.

Hendricks was predeceased by her husband in 1977 and her brother Bill. 

She is survived by her daughter Nancy Nielsen and her husband Warren of Mahwah; her daughter Judy Keryger of West Milford; her granddaughter Diann Cook and her husband Charles and their sons Brandon and Cory of Green Pond; and her grandson, Richard Keryger of West Milford; her brothers Harold Lange of Forked River; Robert Lange of Worcester, N.Y.; and several nieces and nephews.

There will be a funeral service will at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Vander Plaat Funeral Home, 257 Godwin Ave., Wyckoff, followed by interment at the Wyckoff Reformed Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Grace Community Church, 886 Franklin Ave., Franklin Lakes.
