William M. Rottner, 74, Of North Arlington

NORTH ARLINGTON, N.J. -- William M. Rottner, 74, of North Arlington, died Wednesday, Oct. 26. 

He was born in Hoboken and lived there until moving to North Arlington 11 years ago. 

Rottner worked as a mechanic for the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey in Harrison for more than 25 years before retiring. He served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Queen of Peace Council #3428 in North Arlington and was very active with the food pantry at Queen of Peace Church in North Arlington. 

He is survived by his wife, Joan Rottner (nee O'Grady ); children, Kimberly Cerreto and her husband Joseph and Debra Altilio and her husband Jason; grandchildren, Allison Altilio; and siblings, Victor and Veronica Rottner. 

There will be a funeral at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Parow Funeral Home, 185 Ridge Road, North Arlington, thence to Our Lady Queen of Peace Church in North Arlington for a noon funeral Mass. Cremation will be private. The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations made to the food pantry at Queen of Peace Church in North Arlington.
