NORTH ARLINGTON, N.J.– The 33rd Annual National Night Out against crime in North Arlington will be on Aug. 2.
Residents are urged to leave a porch light on overnight as a sign of neighborhood spirit and unity against crime, said North Arlington Police Chief John P. Hearn.
The first 10 blocks to organize a block party will receive a free BBQ package courtesy of the North Arlington Police Crime Prevention Unit and the Arlington Diner, Hearn said.
Members of the police department and elected offices will visit the parties with giveaways, he added.
Visit police headquarters to pick up an application for a block party.
The department will seek approval with closing down the street to traffic from 5 to 9 p.m., Hearn said.
