Lyndhurst's Matt DeMarco Wins Brian Piccolo Memorial Award

LYNDHURST, N.J. — Lyndhurst High School football player Matt DeMarco was honored as a recipient of the Brian Piccolo Memorial Award for excellence on the field and in the classroom.

The Brian Piccolo Award is presented by UNICO to a student who has overcome adversity and excelled on the field, as well as in the classroom.

The award is named after Brian Piccolo, a former NFL player who died at the age of 26 from testicular cancer and whose life was the subject of the film "Brian's Song."
