Seniors:
Three defensive touchdowns led Hasbrouck Heights to a 33-0 victory against New Milford.
The Aviator defense started fast when Rocco Minichiello picked off an Andrew Medina pass and returned it 65 yards for the game’s first score. Stephen Faussette rushed for the conversion and a 7-0 lead.
The Knights went back to the air following the kickoff, with Minichiello intercepting again, returning it 55 yards for a 13-0 lead.
Following the Knights’ next possession, Heights took over at its 31, Minichiello continued his dominating performance with a 65-yard touchdown run, giving Heights a 19-0 first quarter lead.
Heights third defensive TD came when Faussette returned a fumble 62 yards for a touchdown. Jake Diaz’ kick was good to give Heights a 27-0 lead with 6:12 remaining in the first half.
Justin Mucci’s one-yard run in the third quarter capped the scoring.
Juniors:
The Aviators, behind 215 first-half yards from running back Anthony Dilascio, cruised to a 28-6 win.
After taking over at the 35 due to a penalty on the kickoff return, Dilascio gave the Aviators a 7-0 lead three plays into the game, dashing 13 yards for the game’s first score.
The Knights tried to bounce back, keeping the ball for nine plays before being stopped on downs at the Heights' 44. It took Dilascio three plays to cover the 56 yards, going 23 yards for the touchdown. An Evan Werner-to-Frankie Billings pass was good for the conversion and a 14-0 lead.
The Knights’ Quincy Porter went 65 yards on the first play following the ensuing kickoff for a touchdown run.
Dilascio once again scored, going 63 yards for a 20-6 lead. Shane Ike converted the conversion to make the score 21-6.
New Milford's offense stalled and Heights iced the game on its final possession of the first half as DiLascio went 54 yards on the first play after the change of possession for a 28-6 lead.
New Milford’s last gasp of the half ended when Joey Formisano recovered a fumble on a quarterback sack.
Pee-Wees:
New Milford rolled to a 27-0 victory versus Heights.
The Knights opened the scoring on the game’s initial drive. Cicai Jaramilio broke outside the right side of the line and went 53 yards for a touchdown. The Heights' Jake Summers made a tackle behind the line of scrimmage on the conversion attempt to keep the score 6-0.
After the Heights offense stalled, New Milford took over at its own 24 as the first quarter came to an end. The Knights offense sustained a steady march down the field, with Bryan Cunningham scoring on a five yard run to give New Milford a 13-0 lead.
Following another Heights punt, Cunningham took a short pass for 20 yards to give the Knights a 20-0 lead with less than a minute remaining in the half. A fumble allowed the Knights one more offensive possession before the half, and Jaramilio cashed in with a 62-yard touchdown run and a 27-0 Knights' lead.
Hasbrouck Heights travels to North Arlington, while New Milford plays at Carlstadt/East Rutherford in Week Two action.
