Wallington's Ryan Adzima Named Njac Rookie Of The Week

WALLINGTON, NJ. -- Wallington’s Ryan Adzima, who played his first career collegiate contest Friday for Montclair State, has been named the New Jersey Athletic Conference Football Offensive Rookie of the Week.

Adzima played his high school football at DePaul Catholic High School in Wayne.

Adzima helped Montclair State to a 25-15 victory against FDU-Florham in its season opener; MSU's first season-opening win since 2011. The first true freshman to start for the Red Hawks since 2008, Adzima completed 7-of-18 passes for 135 yards and a touchdown in his debut. His first career completion went for a 70-yard touchdown to running back John DiStefano.

Adzima is currently ranked fifth in the NJAC in passing average and is eighth in passing efficiency (109.1.)
