Man Killed In Fatal Hit, Run Crash In Newark: Prosecutor A man was killed in a fatal hit and run crash in Newark on the early morning of Friday, May 31, authorities said. The crash occurred at 3 a.m. at Wilson Avenue and Hensler Street, the Essex County Prosecutor's Office said. The man was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said. The Essex County Prosecutor’s Crime Scene Investigations Bureau is investigating the incident, authorities said.

Elizabeth Man Gets 20 Years For Fatal Shooting: Prosecutor A 38-year-old Elizabeth man was sentenced to 20 years in state prison on Friday, May 24, for killing a man in December 2021, authorities said. On Dec. 16, 2021, police responded to Second Street and Bond Street and found Shamar Brown, a 34-year-old Elizabeth man with a fatal gunshot wound, Union County Prosecutor William Daniel, Elizabeth Police Director Earl Graves, and Elizabeth Police Chief Giacomo Sacca said. Deshon Fleming was sentenced after being convicted of aggravated manslaughter, authorities said.

Roselle Fentanyl Dealer Gets 10 Years, Prosecutor Says A 49-year-old Roselle man was sentenced to 10 years in state prison on Friday, May 24, after being convicted of distributing heroin and fentanyl, authorities said. Man Shot Dead In Elizabeth, Prosecutor Says A 36-year-old Elizabeth resident was shot and killed on Friday, May 24, authorities said. Jair Adams was found dead by officers responding to Mravlag Manor around 10 p.m., the Union County Prosecutor's Office said. Porta-Potties Vandalized By Truck In Hunterdon County Park Police are looking for a trucker who vandalized multiple porta-potties in a Hunterdon County park on Sunday, May 26. At 11:40 p.m., a driver in a maroon Chevy pickup truck with an engine hoist in the bed struck all of the porta-potties in Heritage Park, pushing one into a playground, Bethlehem Township Mayor Paul Muir said on Facebook. All of the porta-potties will likely need to be replaced, Muir said. New Jersey State Police is investigating, Muir said and anyone who can identify the truck or the driver is asked to call 908-730-1600.

A sex education video for LGBTQIA and women's health centers is casting for a shoot in July in Madison. Dog Bites Troopers On Route 80: Njsp A loose dog was a little overzealous on Route 80 in Warren County on Tuesday, May 28, authorities said. Troopers responded to a report of a dog running on Route 80 eastbound in Allamuchy Township, Jeffrey Lebron a spokesman for the New Jersey State Police said. When troopers and civilians tried to capture the dog, they were bitten, Lebron said. The troopers and civilians suffered minor injuries, Lebron said. The dog was captured and turned over to nearby animal control, Lebron said.
