“This is part of our ongoing commitment to promote healthy living in the community we serve,” LPES Capt. Tarcisio Nunes said.
The “Generation Pink” gloves are from Medline, which is donating a portion of the proceeds from the sale of each, as well as other Medline pink-branded products, to the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF).
Since 2005, Medline has committed more than $1.2 million to the NBCF to help fund mammograms for people who cannot afford them, as well as for other educational and prevention resources.
Serving the community since 1942, the Lyndhurst Police Volunteer Emergency Squad is a nonprofit ambulance and rescue service, funded solely by community donations and comprised of 25 local volunteers and five lifetime members who respond to nearly 2,000 emergency calls a year.
LPES encourages members of the community to join businesses, charities, sports figures and them participating in Breast Cancer Awareness month.
“This is the second year we’re doing this,” Nunes said, “but we look forward to doing it every year in order to display the importance of early detection.”
